Thirty-seven consecutive series wins. Thirty straight match wins. Two Majors in 2025, back-to-back Grand Slams in 2026. At some point a streak stops being a hot stretch and starts being a structural fact about a team, and Vitality crossed that line a while ago.
The interesting part isn't the streak itself, it's where it actually started. In January 2022, Vitality paid roughly €50M to bring in Danish stars dupreeh and Magisk alongside coach zonic, converting a French-core roster built around ZywOo into an international team. At the time that read as a team throwing money at a problem. In hindsight it was the last piece of infrastructure a generational player needed around him.
ZywOo signed a five-year extension in 2020, before any of this. That's the part people skip past: Vitality didn't build a team and hope a star emerged, they had the star locked in first and then spent four years building the right context around him. apEX and ZywOo have both since extended through 2028. That's not a team chasing a trophy window, that's an organization that decided the foundation was worth committing to past the point most orgs get nervous and start rebuilding.
Worth arguing about: is a five-year star extension followed by patient roster construction actually replicable, or did Vitality just get lucky that ZywOo happened to be worth building an entire era around? Name a team doing the same bet right now, and say whether you think their version of ZywOo is real.
Argue it out in the discussion thread — that is where this actually gets resolved.
